The benefits of bellydance are both mental and physical - bellydancing is a great stress relieving workout that helps improve your balance, posture and muscle strength. Our bellydance classes emphasize muscular isolations (the ability to move various muscles or muscle groups independently). Bellydance is suitable for all ages and body types.
Classes are held every week unless otherwise noted. Any cancellations will be posted on this site and emailed to everyone on our mailing list. Classes are $120 for an 8 Class Pack, or $60 for a 4 Class Pack or $18 for a drop-in unless otherwise noted. We hope to see you at class!

About Our Open Level Bellydance Class
Our normal warm up consists of muscle toning exercises (such as squats), stretches and some yoga. After the warm up we move onto drills, which include arms, shoulders, chest, stomach, and hips. We do the same warm up and drills each week, and each week we work on a new combination. You can join our class at anytime - beginners will fit right in!
About Our Intermediate/Advanced Tribal Fusion Bellydance Class
Our normal warm up consists of muscle toning exercises (such as squats), stretches and some yoga. After the warm up we move onto drills, which include arms, shoulders, chest, stomach, and hips. We do the same warm up and drills each week. After our warm up and drills we work on our choreographies, some of which include zills (finger cymbals). We recommend that you bring your own zills to class, but we do have zills you can borrow.
Please feel free to contact us if you have any questions or concerns. The pre-requisites for joining this class, besides a love of bellydance, are as follows:
- Knowledge of the basic bellydance moves (i.e. those typically learned after a couple months of taking beginner or open-level classes).
- An understanding that this class is for those a bit more "into" bellydance (i.e. those who come to class regularly).
What is Tribal Fusion Bellydance?
Tribal Fusion is the combination of tribal belly dancing and costuming with influences of other belly dance and related dance styles which do not necessarily appear in the common tribal belly dance movement vocabulary. For instance, within a tribal belly dance performance, the incorporation of more flirtatious, less "grounded and earthy" moves might create a fusion. The incorporation of predominantly Indian stylings, such as mudras and footwork might create a fusion (such as inFusion Tribal's Bhangra Fusion). The use of djembes in musical selections, and the addition of African shimmies and stomping could be called a fusion (such as Domba). The combination of hip hop-inspired pops and locks with modern/interpretive contortions and jazz floor patterns and Western music would create a fusion (such as Urban Tribal Dance Company). So long as the many or most of the basic elements which define tribal *and* bellydance are still predominant in the performance, it could be referred to as a tribal fusion.

What To Wear To Bellydance Class
Wear yoga or stretchy pants that allow free movement - no jeans! - and a shirt or tank top that is not too loose (we want to be able to see your movements). You can wear a cropped top and bare your stomach if you choose, but most students do not. You can dance barefoot or with socks. Most students also wear coin belts or hip scarves, which are available to buy or borrow at class.
Drop-ins are always welcome! The drop-in fee is $18 per class.
