Bellydance Revolution was created by instructor and choreographer Kim Henry to study different styles, perform and spread the joy of dance. Kim has been bellydancing for more than 3 years and loves to teach! She currently studies under Karin of Kassar Tribal (Tribal Fusion Bellydance) and Sonalee Vyas (Bollywood, Banghra & Indian Classical Dance), and has workshopped with The Indigo, Sharon Kihara and Ariellah. Besides her wonderful teachers Karin and Sonalee, her inspirations include Kami Liddle, Ariellah, Rachel Brice, Zoe Jakes, Mardi Love, Sharon Kihara, Ansuya and Unmata. Look them up on youtube!
Kim loves to be in the spotlight and has been involved with some aspect of the performing arts for as long as she can remember. She has studied various forms of music since age 5 and brings her musical talents into her bellydance, whether it be with zills or middle eastern drums.
Kim's personal style is East Coast Tribal Fusion Bellydance, which is choreographed American Tribal Style Bellydance fused with other related dance styles including American Nightclub / Cabaret Bellydance, Indian Classical Dance, Bollywood, Flamenco and Hip Hop. While not very apparent at the beginner level (beginner moves are pretty much the same no matter what style of bellydance you choose to specialize in), her intermediate level classes are influenced by Tribal Fusion.
Kim strongly feels that bellydance is for everybody - it is not limited by age, size or fitness level and is a great stress-relieving workout. She looks forward to seeing you in class!
